Maine Mini Vacation
This month has started off very exciting. I went to Maine with my family on the first, and we came back yesterday. My mommy had a friend's wedding to attend on
Saturday so we thought to turn the trip into a mini vacation.
We stayed at the Fireside Inn in Portland and they gave me and Pebbles bowls at check in. Mommy and Brian got whoopie pies. Did you know Maine is famous for whoopie pies?
I found my favorite spot right away.
That night we went to visit mommy's friend Mandie (the bride). Mandie was having a cookout. We even got to spend time by a fire. Everyone was so friendly.
On Saturday morning we went to Baxter Woods in Portland for a nice walk. It was beautiful with really tall trees.
Later Saturday was the wedding. Dogs weren't allowed at the wedding so mommy had to find a nice place for Pebbles and I to stay. It was our first time ever at a daycare. Mommy was very nervous leaving us with strangers. Mommy had a mini aniexty attack leaving us but the staff at The Doggie Cottage (in Scarborough, ME) was really nice. They were very helpful to us and we really appreciated the stay for the day.
While we were at daycare we meet other dogs. Dogs from Maine are pretty cool.
The next day, Sunday, we went to Quarry Run Dog Park (also in Portland) to start the day off. This place was awesome. It was huge and plenty of dogs to play with. There was a small dog I played with mostly because she was almost at fast as me. Mommy tried to record us running but missed her chance. I loved this park.
After we walked around Old Port Waterfront District in Portland. We found this adorable dog bakery. The owner was so sweet to us. She gave Pebbles and I free treats. Then mommy and Brian spoiled us with some yogart covered treats. Pebbles and I both got Mini Woofie Pies. I got a naughty squirrel treat and Pebbles got a cupcake one.
During our walking around we stop at a restaurant that had outdoor seating and allowed Pebbles and I to join. We didn't get to try the food because it was people food but it smelled so good.
That evening we visited Old Orchard Beach. There was a lot more walking around, even before we made it to the beach. Once we made it to the beach, we found a bench and relaxed for a bit.
Pebbles, mommy and I at Old Orchard Beach.
Like I said we did a lot of walking that day. So I passed out on the way back to the hotel.
On Monday, we visited Portland Head Light which is also Fort Williams Park and Cape Elizabeth. Such a nice place.
Later, Brian wanted to get Pebbles and I new collars. So we found this little shop and Brian even got us matching leashes.
Monday night was our last night in Maine. Mommy really wanted to try lobster so we went to this really nice restaurant. Of course out door seating, mommy loves bringing us everywhere. Pebbles and I had our new collars and leashes on. People kept coming up to us saying how well behaved we were during dinner. I even tried to sneak a piece of lobster. It was a great way to end the trip.
Finally, Tuesday morning we packed up our stuff and headed back home. I know I'm a lucky dog and really love my family.
